Famed hip-hop artist and producer Dr. Dre recently opened up about his health crisis in an interview on SiriusXM's "This Life of Mine with James Corden." The 59-year-old revealed that he had three strokes while hospitalized for a brain aneurysm three years ago. Dre explained that his condition worsened after being admitted to the hospital for pain behind his right ear. He experienced blackouts and was in and out of consciousness, eventually ending up in the ICU for two weeks.
During his time in the hospital, Dre received a surprising diagnosis. He was told that he had high blood pressure, which came as a shock to him as he maintained a healthy lifestyle. The artist shared that he was actively working out and taking care of himself. He questioned whether his condition could have been prevented if he had worked out harder or made different dietary choices, but he was informed that high blood pressure is hereditary.
The health scare had a profound impact on Dre and made him appreciate being alive. He expressed his gratitude for still being here and acknowledged the uncertainty of life. Dre realized that some things are beyond our control and can happen unexpectedly.
Despite his health challenges, Dre continues to make strides in his career. In 2021, he was hospitalized for a brain aneurysm but has since recovered. He expressed his gratitude to his family, friends, and fans for their support during that time. Dre is set to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, further recognizing his contributions to the music industry.
