Pence's Decision
Former Vice President Mike Pence has announced that he will not be endorsing Donald Trump for president in the 2024 election. Pence cited differences in political agenda as the reason for his decision. He stated that Trump's agenda is at odds with the conservative agenda that they governed on during their four years in office. Pence himself ran for the nomination but dropped out in October.
Reaction from Liz Cheney
Former GOP congresswoman Liz Cheney, known for her vocal opposition to Trump, shared her reaction to Pence's decision. In response to a tweet by conservative lawyer George Conway, Cheney shared a clip of her father, former Vice President Dick Cheney, voicing his opposition to Trump. In the video, Dick Cheney called Trump a threat to the republic and accused him of trying to steal the last election using lies and violence. Cheney faced major opposition from the pro-Trump party base and ultimately lost her reelection.
Trump's Response
Newsweek reached out to Trump's office for comment on Pence's decision but has not received a response as of yet.
