Volkswagen has unveiled the ID 3 GTX, a compact electric sports car that serves as the replacement for the Golf GTI. Unlike traditional hatchbacks, the ID 3 GTX features rear-wheel drive instead of front-wheel drive. It will be available in two trims: ID 3 GTX and ID 3 GTX Performance, with the Performance model offering even more power.

The ID 3 GTX, like its predecessor the GTI, boasts unique design elements. The exterior features a distinct bumper treatment, high-gloss black sills and diffuser, and GTX-specific twenty-inch wheels. Inside, you'll find sport seats, red stitching, and unique fabrics that give the car a sporty feel.
The Performance model of the ID 3 GTX delivers Volkswagen's most powerful electric drivetrain, offering an estimated 0-60 time of 5.6 seconds. With 321 horsepower, it provides impressive performance. The standard ID 3 GTX, with 282 horsepower, is no slouch either. In terms of range, the ID 3 GTX is estimated to deliver 372 miles on the WTLP test, translating to at least 300 miles in regular use. It also features fast charging capabilities, allowing it to reach 80 percent charge in just 26 minutes at a DC fast charge station.
The ID 3 GTX will be available in a stunning Kings Red Metallic color, which is the only option for this model. However, more conservative color choices like white, black, grey, and silver will be available for those who prefer a more traditional look. Unfortunately, it is unlikely that the ID 3 GTX will be sold in the U.S. market.
